Overview
A remote circuit around the world's eighth highest mountain, passing Tibetan-style villages and crossing Larkya La at about 5,106 m.
The Manaslu Circuit follows the Budhi Gandaki gorge from green hills to a high Tibetan-influenced valley, circling Manaslu (8,163 m). It feels wilder than the Annapurna Circuit, and it has less road.
The hardest day crosses Larkya La, usually given as 5,106 m, with a long descent to Bimthang. Lodges have improved greatly, though they remain simple.
A restricted area permit and a licensed guide are required, with a minimum group rule that you should confirm when booking.
