Overview
A more technical Khumbu climb above the Everest trail, with steep snow and an exposed summit ridge for climbers building alpine experience.
Lobuche East reaches 6,119 m and rises directly above the village of Lobuche. Its upper slopes are steeper than Island or Mera, so some mountaineering experience is strongly recommended.
The trek in follows the Everest Base Camp route, which gives good acclimatization before you move to base and high camp.
You should be confident with crampons, ice axe, fixed ropes and rappelling. A climbing permit is required.
