- Kyanjin Gompa
- Walk back towards Kathmandu through Helambu
Overview
Combine the Langtang Valley with the sacred alpine lakes of Gosaikunda, ending over Laurebina Pass into Helambu country.
This route adds the holy Gosaikunda lakes to the Langtang Valley. Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims come here, especially during the Janai Purnima festival in late summer.
From the lakes, you cross Laurebina La at about 4,610 m and descend through Helambu to the Kathmandu Valley rim, so you walk almost back to the capital.
A Langtang National Park permit is required. Snow can make the pass difficult in winter and early spring.
