Overview

See the valley's great temples and stupas, with several of its UNESCO World Heritage monuments, on a relaxed guided city break.

The Kathmandu Valley is listed by UNESCO for seven monument zones within a small area. This tour covers the main ones, including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath.

You also visit Patan and Bhaktapur, the two other old royal cities. It is an easy trip, with short walks, and pairs well with a trek.

Pashupatinath and Boudhanath are active religious sites, so dress modestly and ask before taking photos. Non-Hindus don't enter Pashupatinath's main temple.
