What you came for.
- The historic route of the 1953 expedition
- Solu villages and Sherpa farms
- Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar
- Natural acclimatization on the walk in
Overview
Walk in on the original route of the first Everest expeditions, climbing from the green hills of Jiri through Solu before joining the Khumbu trail.
Before Lukla had an airstrip, Everest expeditions walked in from the road head. This route follows that history through farming villages, rhododendron forest and high ridges.
The long approach gives excellent natural acclimatization and shows a side of rural Nepal that most trekkers miss. You then continue to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar.
It is a long trip with many climbs and descents, so it suits strong walkers with time to spare.
