Overview
A short escape east of Kathmandu to a hillside Newar town and the Buddhist monastery at Namobuddha.
Dhulikhel is an old Newar town with mountain views, about 30 km from Kathmandu. It pairs well with Namobuddha, a large monastery complex and important Buddhist pilgrimage site.
Rural walks link villages and hills, making this a nice break from the city. No special fitness is needed.
Mountain views are best in clear autumn and winter weather.
